About The Normandy Party
Why do we call ourselves the "Normandy" Party?
The most defining moment in American history was its choice to fight against fascist Nazi Germany in World War II. Thousands of Americans stormed the beaches of Nazi-occupied France at Normandy on D-Day during Operation Overlord. Many of them gave their lives in the process. As they continued through France and onto Berlin, they freed our allies from a brutal occupation and ended the Holocaust, the industrial slaughter, the Nazis' "Final Solution", for Jews, gays, Black people, the disabled and many other minorities.
We call ourselves the "Normandy Party" to remind Americans that the time has once again come to fight against fascism. To advocate that American citizens and American minorities arm themselves now, before we face our own "Final Solution".
Why do we use black and white stripes as our symbol?
Before the D-Day invasion, Allied aircraft painted stripes, called Invasion Stripes, on their aircraft to know which were friends and which were foes. We chose to adopt this symbol for ourselves to show that we too are united, once again, with our allies against fascism.
Why start a third party? Why not just be pro-gun Democrats?
While we share many beliefs with the Democratic party, the party is failing to realize what it is fighting against. The party is old, weak, distracted and divided. While there is a new generation of Democrats rising, they are still held back by party bureaucracy.
With the re-election of Donald Trump, Democrats are working under the assumption that it is 2016 again. They are wrong. We are working under the assumption that it is 1933 again.
As such, we believe we must organize outside of the Democratic party structure to best inspire and prepare Americans to oppose fascism.
Are we a spoiler party then?
No. Our first and primary goal as a party is to oppose fascism. Americans should vote for any candidate that is working to oppose fascism, be they a Normandy, Democrat, or Republican.
Are we part of or affiliated with Antifa?
No. While the Normandy Party is anti-fascist, we are not a part of or affiliated with the group colloquially called "Antifa".
Although we advocate for Americans to arm themselves to oppose fascism, we do not advocate for vigilante violence against fascists. We believe that Americans should exercise their Second Amendment rights. That being necessary to the security of a free State, Americans have the right to keep and bear arms, which shall not be infringed.
Are we a militia or paramilitary?
No. We advocate for Americans to arm themselves. We provide resources on how they may become trained in their use and on how to become responsible firearm owners. But as an organization, we do not arm or train individuals.
